POLARTROPICA is the unconventionally alluring music endeavor of Los Angeles-based galactic dream rock artist, Ihui (eeway) Cherise Wu. Taiwan born and California raised, Wu has created a genre of ethereal synth psychedelia that you've never heard before - combining exquisite melodies, dreamlike classical string arrangements, and Polartropica's shimmering vocals. Her debut EP 'Astrodreams' was released on Lolipop Records and they are currently releasing a set of sparkly singles in preparation for their first full-length LP and tour later this year.
The Colour Coast came together in late 2016 in Los Angeles, and consists of members with roots in Canada, Argentina, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Minnesota. Their songs inject tropical and Latin dance rhythms into wide melodies, creating a sound that pays tribute to their range of cultural backgrounds and musical influences. The end result is a unique, danceable brand of indie rock peppered with the flavours of classic disco and Cumbia, which they're calling "tropical indie rock." They've hit the ground running in 2018; releasing their first EP in January, booking shows at SXSW for March, and playing a successful month-long residency at The Satellite. The momentum around this group is gaining quickly!
Inspired by the dance-rock groups of the early 80’s, mini bear is future-pop for a Post-Romantic generation. A classical voice graduate in music, L.A. native Lauren Kop uses analog synth sounds and modern electronic gadgets to write layered songs with sentimental melodies. Lyrics communicate intense loneliness and a fear of the de-evolution of love and detachment in our culture.
